Our interventions are in three phases: a) Child right advocacy (focused on education) b) Women advocacy (gives priority to pregnant rural women) c) Strengthening health systems for women and children Development is about people, and must be people centered. Women and children are important segments of the human population and constitute critical links between the present and future generations. Appropriate investment in women has been shown to be of great benefits at individual, household and community levels. Such investments benefits nations greatly in terms of poverty reduction, improved national economic performance, and realization of fundamental human right for women and children (UN,2010). Globally about eight million children die from preventable causes and more than 350,000 women die from preventable complications related to pregnancy and child birth each year. (UN,2010) hence KLF has dedicated one of its activities to seeking solutions to some of these preventable death causes.
